Digital twin for consultants: what it does today and what is next
A digital twin for consultants is an AI copy of the consultant, with their face, their voice and a brain holding their method and decision rules, that serves clients when they are not available. Consultancy is the profession Digital Twin by Legathum's method and session types are designed for today; selling and delivering on its own is what comes next.

What is a digital twin for consultants?
It is a version of the consultant built with artificial intelligence: it has their face and voice, and a brain of its own with their method, their materials and their decision rules. Its job is to serve clients and prospective clients when the consultant cannot be there, working the way the consultant works and always saying that it is an AI.
Digital Twin by Legathum's short definition is this: a professional cloned with AI who serves clients and sells at any hour. For a consultant, that means a first conversation, an explanation of the method or the groundwork for a project can happen without each of those hours coming out of their diary.
Why is consultancy the profession to start with?
Because a consultant's work is already made of method. Analysing a situation, proposing, following up: all of it follows steps a good consultant repeats with judgement. That judgement is exactly what a twin needs to be useful.
In Digital Twin by Legathum, the current method and session types are designed for consultancy. Other professions are in development, with flows of their own. If you work in organisational, people, strategy or transformation consultancy, you are the profile the product is best prepared for today.
What does it do today, and what is in development?
It is worth separating clearly what exists from what is coming. This table sums it up for a consultant.
| Feature | Status today |
|---|---|
| A twin with your face and voice, from a recording of about seven minutes | Exists |
| Its own Master Brain, with a Book of Criteria of rules reviewed and approved by you, each with its source | Exists |
| Says it is an AI in its first turn, and its name ends in "Clon IA" | Exists |
| Real people only, with verified consent revocable with one click | Exists |
| Booking page connected to your calendar | Exists |
| Meetings on Google Meet | Exists for the house twin; for each client's twin, in development |
| Other video-call platforms | In development |
| Your twin selling, booking, charging for and delivering your service on its own | In development |
| Applying your rules in conversation and naming the rule behind each answer | In development |
The rule behind this table is the one we apply to everything we publish about the product: what has not been checked is not presented as available.
Which part of your work can it take on?
The part that repeats and costs you hours today. For a consultant, it is usually these four.
- The first conversation. Explaining what you do, whom you help and how you work, at any hour.
- Questions about your method. Its phases, what you ask of the client, what you deliver at the end.
- Preparing a project. Gathering the information you need before the first working session.
- Follow-up between sessions. Reminding the client what was agreed and what comes next.
What is not worth delegating is what needs you in the room: a sensitive recommendation, a negotiation, a difficult conversation with leadership. The twin extends your diary; it does not replace your judgement at the moments that call for it.
How do you prepare a consultant's brain?
By writing your method as rules. It is the most important piece of work and the one that pays back most, including outside the twin.
Start with your materials: proposals, template reports, method presentations, the questions you ask in a first meeting. Then write your decision rules in the Book of Criteria: when you take on a project, which signals make you change approach, what you propose depending on the client's size and situation. Each rule with its condition, action, reason and source.
ISO 30401, which sets requirements for knowledge management systems in organisations, frames the work as establishing, maintaining, reviewing and improving. A consultancy method is no different: the Book works in versions, and each version is put into force with a note explaining what changes.
What should your clients know?
That they are talking to an AI, from the start. Article 50 of the EU AI Act requires people to be told clearly, at the latest at the first interaction. The twin says so at the start and its name shows it; you can reinforce it on your website, your booking page and every booking confirmation.
It is also worth explaining what client data is used and why. If the twin gathers information to prepare a project, apply the GDPR's data minimisation principle: ask only for what that purpose needs. And where you work with your clients' data on the platform, Legathum acts as your processor, with the safeguards Article 28 requires.
What does it look like in practice?
Picture a management consultant who receives several enquiries a week from companies wanting to know whether their method fits. Today, each enquiry is a half-hour call in their diary.
With a twin, the twin can hold that first conversation: it explains the method, answers frequent questions with what is in the brain and gathers what the consultant needs to know about the company. The consultant spends their time on the companies that, after that conversation, want to go further.
The example describes the use the product is designed for. A client's twin doing that whole journey on its own, including the sale, is in development.
How much of your time does it take?
Little for the recording and more for the brain. The recording is about seven minutes following a simple script; consent is a link by email and a video of you reading a sentence. Once you sign up, the Legathum team supports the set-up of your twin.
The real time goes into the Book of Criteria, because writing your method as rules makes you think about how you decide. It is also the part that gives most back: many consultants discover rules they were applying without knowing.
What exists today and what is coming
- Today: a twin with your face and voice, a Master Brain with a Book of Criteria, the AI notice, verified and revocable consent, and a booking page.
- In development: your twin selling, booking, charging for and delivering your service on its own, and applying your rules while naming the rule behind each answer.
- In development: flows for other professions.
Frequently asked questions
Does a digital twin replace the consultant?
No. It takes on the repetitive part of the client relationship; sensitive recommendations and important decisions stay with the consultant.
Does it work for a consultancy with several consultants?
Each twin belongs to one real person. A consultancy with several consultants can have one twin per consultant on the Business plan.
Will my clients know they are talking to my twin?
Yes. It says so in its first turn and its name in the meeting ends in "Clon IA", as Article 50 of the EU AI Act requires.
What happens to my method if I stop using the twin?
The brain belongs to you. Today you can export your Book of Criteria as Markdown or YAML; exporting the whole brain is in development.
Do I need technical knowledge?
No. If you can join a video call, you can create your twin, and the Legathum team supports the set-up.
